Tucked in the heart of Platteville, Wisconsin, Hidden Quilts, LLC is more than just a quilt shop—it’s a place where creativity, craftsmanship, and community come together.

What began as a passion for quilting has grown into one of the region’s most extensive destinations for quilters of all skill levels. Inside our shop, you’ll find a thoughtfully curated selection of high-quality fabrics, threads, batting, tools, quilt kits, and patterns—everything you need to bring your next project to life. We also proudly offer a wide range of hand embroidery materials, perfect for those who appreciate the artistry and tradition of stitching by hand.

Classes & Monthly Club: From beginner basics to advanced techniques, our classes are designed to build confidence stitch by stitch. Join our Monthly Club for ongoing inspiration—think new projects, skill refreshers, friendly accountability, and a welcoming circle of quilters who cheer each other on. Whether you’re mastering piecing, exploring color and layout, or trying specialty methods, you’ll leave with new skills and renewed creative energy.
Workspace & Cutting Stations: Enjoy our clean, well-lit workspace with ample tables, power access, and a friendly atmosphere that makes long sewing days fly by. Our cutting stations are equipped with quality mats and rulers so you can prep fabric accurately and comfortably—no more balancing boards on the kitchen table. Bring your project, settle in, and get it done.
Hand Embroidery: We love hand embroidery. Check out our many models on display, books, patterns, perle cotton and Weeks Dye Works. We also have a limited selection of wool.
Retreat House for Quilters – The DeWitt House: Gather your quilt friends and escape to the DeWitt House, a comfortable retreat designed with makers in mind. Enjoy roomy sewing areas, cozy common spaces, and the kind of quiet that helps big projects finally come together. It’s the perfect setting for multi-day sew-ins, guild getaways, or a restorative small group retreat.

What is the Hidden Quilt Society and how do I join?

The Hidden Quilt Society is our annual Block of the Month (BOM) club. The new pattern will be revealed September 4–6, 2025, and the next round officially kicks off October 7–11, 2025. Stop by the shop to see the new design and reserve your spot for a full year of fun, monthly meetups.

Do you offer classes for beginners or specialty quilting techniques?

Yes! From September 26–28, 2025, we’re hosting a Free Motion Quilting class that’s beginner-friendly and open to all experience levels. No prior experience is needed—just bring a fearless attitude and willingness to try something new! We also offer seasonal classes, demos, and technique workshops throughout the year.

Where are you located and who do you serve?

Hidden Quilts is located in Platteville, WI, between Driftless Market and Morrisey Printing—right across from Garvey’s Service Station. We serve Lafayette County, Grant County, Iowa County, and nearby towns like Darlington, Cuba City, Fennimore, and Dubuque, IA. We’re also affiliated with The DeWitt House Retreat Center, just steps from the shop—perfect for your next quilt getaway.
